Installation

Replacement
Smoke and CO alarms wear out. Most should be replaced about every 10 years. We swap out old units, including with sealed-battery models that don't need yearly battery changes.
Not sure how old your alarms are?
The manufacture date is printed on the back of each alarm. If it's close to 10 years old, or you can't find a date, it's time to replace it.
